An eternal preoccupation

War and religion continue to be at odds.  Every day we are visited with a new act of inhumanity so heavily publicized by the media that we forget to see the charitable and compassionate acts of human kindness all around us.  The questions we face every day are: Where do we choose to look?  And where do we need to look?  To focus solely on the negative produces a malicious human disposition and to focus on solely the positive produces a blindside of unwillingness to compassionately see the needs of others.  Balance is required.  Easier said than done.
